Horizon Early Football Preview

Colorado Prep Report takes an early off-season look at Horizon and how we feel they will do this fall on the football field. We talk about their team, their athletes, and the toughest spots on this group that they need to replace. Learn more about them in this article now!

Breakdown

After winning eight games a season ago, Horizon is hopeful that having two offensive playmakers in Cade Verkler and Isaac Salazar will help their chances heading into 2016. Verkler dominated with the football in his hands to the tune of over 1,400 yards and remain the focal point of the offense heading into his final year at the high school level. Salazar on the other hand racked up over 400 receiving yards as a sophomore and will help the transition as the Hawks find a new quarterback. The biggest concerns heading into the fall remain on defense. Dylan Bowman and his 6-foot-1, 240 pound frame will help anchor this unit but replacing seven of their top eight tacklers remains a tough feat. Andrew Wiske and Chase Kinstad are two that are expected to step into larger roles defensively as well.
